The regular monthly meeting of the SCFOMAD was called to order by the President Chief LeClaire at 1914 hours on Thursday April 1, 2010 at the Somersworth Fire Station. Present were Twenty Six members representing Eighteen communities and Pease ANG Base. Chief Don Messier welcomed everyone to Somersworth and it was mentioned that this would be his last meeting prior to retirement. They will be meeting with the Thirteen mutual aid systems statewide and wrap up the project by the end of May 2010. Following a Five minute break, the meeting resumed and having been transmitted to the membership by electronic mail, a motion was made ( Silver/Cresta ) to waive the reading of the minutes of the March meeting and that was so voted. Old Business:
Chief Silver spoke about paramedic program accreditation and it appears that there will two programs in New Hampshire that will meet the criteria. New England EMS Institute at the Eliot Hospital and the Technical College in Concord. Harry Thayer listed the Seven communities that have not yet joined the SCFOMAD. No decision has been made on the idea of forming an EMS directors group as an ad hoc part of our organization. Inviting a member of the Essex County fire chiefs to a future meeting is a possibility. The secretary will contact John Merrill on this matter.
New Business: None
Good of the Order: Next meeting May 6th in South Hampton. Motion to adjourn at 8:15pm.
Respectfully, Chief William H. Sullivan, Secretary |
